「信仰と行い」

ヤコブの手紙2:14-26

私達の救いは生きておられる神様、
御子イエス・キリストを信じることによって
成し遂げられ、確信を持ってきました。
ですが、ヤコブ使徒が書かれた箇所を読むと、
全然別の話のように思われます。
どこが違うのでしょうか？

「行いのない信仰なら何の役にも立たない、死んだものです。」
と、信仰の行いを強調していることです。
今まで自分が救われたのは、
自分の行い、善、努力ではなく、
ひたすら神の恵み、
主の賜物によって救われたと信じてきました。
この時間、私達に与えて下さった箇所を通して、
生きている信仰とはどのような信仰か、
学ばせていただきたいと思います。

本質的な信仰はただ一つです。
生きる信仰、その信仰とは御言葉に従順し、
行いが伴う正しい信仰です。
また行いを通して完成されます。
アブラハムは神様のひどい命令に何も言わず、
ただ従順しました。
私達は信じることによって救われるから行わない、
祈りの生活をしない、
御言葉に従わない。
こういった罪人の世代に向けて、
このアブラハムの信仰を伝えたいとヤコブは
聖書に書かれました。
娼婦ラハブも伝道者をかくまい逃がしました。
自分の命を懸けた行いです。
真の信仰は命さえ懸ける覚悟です。
私達は、それぞれ戴いた使命によって
行わなければなりません。

行いのない信仰は、死んだものと同じです。
