ルカによる福音書 16:19-31

金持ちとラザロの話はキリスト者なら、
またノンクリスチャンでもよく知っている話です。
この内容をいくら読んでもいくら説教を聞いても、
自分に対するみ言葉として悟らせていただくことができまかったらみなさん、
なんの意味があるのでしょう。

二人は死んで、ラザロは信仰の人アブラハムの胸に抱かれ天国に入りました。
しかし金持ちはラザロのいるところとは程遠い、
苦しい地獄にいました。
金持ちは納得がいきませんでした。

金持ちだから天にいけないということではありません。
貧しい人だから天に入るということも正しくありません。
むしろ聖書は一所懸命働いて不法な方法ではなく、
正しい実りを沢山結ぶことを教えます。
大切なのは、貧しい人よりも豊かな人が天に入るのはもっと
難しいという意味です。

なぜでしょうか。

貧しい人はこの世の中で頼るものがないので、
信じたらひたすら主のみ、信じる心を持っています。
けれども豊かな人、金持ちの人は見えない神より見えるものに心が奪われます。
イエス様も「金持ちが天の国に入るのは難しい」
とおっしゃいました。
信仰の問題です。

大事なことは、
ラザロが貧しい者だったのでアブラハムの胸に抱かれたことではなく、
元から主のものとして選ばれた人です。
私たちがキリスト者として確信を持っていたら、
いろいろな苦しみを受け止めなければなりません。
永遠の望み、永遠の希望があるということだけで、
生きる意味があります。
これが私たちキリスト者の生き方の素晴らしいことだと思います。
ラザロはそのような生き方を歩んだ者だと思います。
